On behalf of the American Society for Investigative Pathology (ASIP), we are delighted to invite you to the Pathobiology for Investigators, Students, and Academicians (PISA) 2025 Young Investigators Virtual Meeting, taking place October 28–30, 2025.

This annual event is designed to highlight and support the next generation of experimental pathobiology researchers. The PISA 2025 program will feature short oral presentations from undergraduate, graduate, and postdoctoral trainees and include sessions that explore professional development and career navigation.

We anticipate a dynamic program that includes:

  • Short oral presentations (15 minutes each) selected from submitted abstracts across a range of topic areas—from cancer and immunopathology to stem cells and neuroscience.
  • Career-focused sessions that address alternative career paths, overcoming challenges in training, and navigating personal and professional growth.
  • A keynote address from an invited leader in the field

We encourage all eligible trainees to submit abstracts starting in August, and to invite colleagues to join ASIP and participate. Abstracts that build upon prior work or represent incremental progress are welcome.

PISA 2025 is proudly supported by Elsevier and The American Journal of Pathology. We are we are grateful for their partnership in supporting this important opportunity to showcase trainee-led science.

If you're a trainee member, we hope you’ll consider submitting your work. If you’re not yet a member of ASIP, now is the perfect time to join and get involved.

We’re excited to celebrate the outstanding research and voices of our trainee community this fall. We look forward to seeing you (virtually!) in October!

 All the best,

Sarah Dooley, PhD (Medical University of South Carolina)
Maria Antonia Zambrano, BS (Tufts University School of Medicine)
